Valtènesi red is the quintessence of flavors and knowledge of Valtènesi area. It is strongly characterized by the autochthonous grape Groppello (cultivated since 1300) and it is completed with Marzemino, Barbera and Sangiovese.
It has a bright ruby red color, given by the dominant presence of Groppello. Both aroma and taste recall spices and herbaceous notes, typical of Groppello, and are deliciously balanced by the other grapes that complete the blend. The taste is velvety, mineral and delicate, with a persistent almond aftertaste.
Its best pairing is with red meat: stewed, grilled, roasted, braised or boiled. It is excellent with the typical “spiedo” from Brescia, medium aged cheese and fish in tasty red sauce.
